Why God?

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

This is not easy.  Losing a loved one is honestly one of the hardest things to go through. I know the hurt and sadness is unbearable at times.  Trying to find relief from your heartbreak, you are searching for answers. Hoping they will ease your pain, you ask, Why God? Why did you not perform a miracle? When your questions are left unanswered, it is easy to become frustrated and angry with God. It is normal to question God’s goodness in a time of grief.  I have been there.

But the key is to not get stuck there.

Don’t get stuck thinking God does not care about you or love you. It is okay to question things but don’t remain distant from God in the pain. Don’t believe the lies that God has forgotten about you and your family. The truth is actually the opposite. He is grieving along side you, walking through this hard time with you. Remember the verse, Psalms 34:18, “God is close to the brokenhearted.”

I know you feel lost but keep crying out to God in your pain.

I know you want to push God away but keep turning to Him daily.

I know you are questioning whether God hears your prayers but keep calling out to Him for comfort.

I don’t fully understand why God did not miraculously heal my friend. I do not understand why you did not get your miracle either.  We will probably not get answers this side of heaven.  However, I choose to believe that God is good. I choose to trust that His plans are good.

You can choose to fully trust God without fully understanding God.   This is my prayer for you.  Keep believing God loves you.  Keep seeking Him daily.  Keep trusting God even when it does not make sense.
