One Word Challenge 2015

I don’t know if you have heard about the one word challenge. It is basically choosing one word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live the following year. I was introduced to this last year with Debbie Eaton at one of the women’s bible studies and I just loved it. I don’t know about you but it is truly so easy to make resolutions and then forget them by the end of January. So, when I heard about this last year, I was very intrigued.

Well, I was reading the InCourage devotional last week and it was talking about the one word challenge so I decided to do it again this year. I wanted to share with you my two words (I know you are only supposed to pick one but two really stood out to me this year J )

My two words for 2015 are Intentional and Soar

The word intentional has come up in my mind over and over the last 2-3 months. I love how God gave me this word way before I knew I was going to do this challenge again. I want to be intentional about the time I spend with my boys, the time I spend with God and the time I spend with friends and family. Intentionality is so important to me in my new phase of life.

I love the Isaiah 40 verse, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” In college at APU, they had a song at APU on Isaiah 40 and it was my favorite song. I want to soar to new places this year in my new phase of life. I want to soar higher with God than ever before in my faith; I want God to take me to new heights!

Ladies, I so encourage you to do the one word challenge!! There are so many good choices (here are some examples from the website): Grateful, Joy, Faith, Trust, Grace, Peace, Love, Hope, Courageous, Deeper, Self-Control, Perspective, Serve, Stillness, Family, Persevere, Purposeful, Consistent, Laughter… The list goes on and on.

Pray and Ask God to help reveal what word he wants you to focus on this year and share it with a friend! Accountability is key to having success. I would love to hear your word too; please email me and let me know if you do the challenge!!

Love, Jodi

#OneWord365

Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap that long list of goals you won’t remember three weeks from now anyway.

Choose just one word.

One word you can focus on every day, all year long… One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live.

It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your one word will shape not only your year, but also you. It will become the compass that directs your decisions and guides your steps.

Discover the big impact one word can make.

One word. 365 days. A changed life.
