God’s Plans Are Always Bigger and Better

I could not believe what I found.

An old notebook with goals written back in January 2018 brought me much delight.  I smiled as I read about my hopes and dreams for my blog, my book, and my writing in general.

Then I came upon the word, Depth.

I grinned as I read these words, “Start a non-profit called Depth to help get books into readers’ hands.”

God had much bigger plans for this word than I knew back in 2018.

My desire to share books with others was still there, but the avenue God would use was quite different.

About a year later, God would whisper deep into my heart, “Depth is a podcast!”

God’s prompting in me left me uneasy. Was I techy enough to start a podcast? I honestly did not have a clue what to do, but after weeks of feeling “not enough”, I boldly took a leap of faith anyway!

“Depth Podcast Coming This Summer” was announced across all my social media platforms.

I stepped into my Jordan River, waiting for God to part the waters. He was faithful and guided me each step of the way that summer from buying a microphone, to learning how to edit, to recording my first solo episode to interviewing my first guests on the podcast.

This one brave decision has become one of my favorite parts of my ministry!

Talking with other Christian authors is exciting! Sharing inspiring stories of how God never wastes our pain is encouraging! After each interview, I end the zoom call uplifted and energized; I almost feel on fire!

There is power in Kingdom work!

Little did I know that this word, Depth would be more than just a podcast! It would also become the title of my first book!

Depth: Growing Through Heartbreak to Strength releases in less than a week! I am in awe of how God’s plans are always bigger and better than my original plan for this word. Thank you God for being immeasurably more like Ephesians 3:20 says!

So, let me say: Happy 3rd Birthday Depth Podcast! It has truly been the best 3 years of my life! I look forward to many more!

AND happy almost “Birth” Day to my first book, Depth! Praying that the words written in those pages will bring hope and help to another hurting heart!
